Richard (Rick) Huffstetler

Rick has over 40 years of experience in sales and production in both field and management positions. He felt God’s calling in 2009 to begin preparing himself for a career in service to God and mankind and he has done this by completing his Master’s in Christian Leadership from Liberty University, taking Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Atrium Medical, and basic chaplain training in Houston, TX through the International Fellowship of Chaplains. Both the IFOC training and CPE included crisis debriefing. He also spent two years with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as a Ministry Associate and is currently a prayer line associate with the BGEA. He answers the national prayer line and offers prayers and comfort to callers.

Rick is an Ordained Senior Chaplain through the International Fellowship of Chaplains and continues his training in his effort to stay current and well informed. He is also a chaplain with Motor Racing Outreach (MRO). The Motor Racing Outreach Association exists to foster and encourage fellowship and faith in Christ through ministering to the needs of the racing community and its fans, and especially among MRO members.

Rick makes his home in Mooresville, NC. He was blessed with 47 years with his wife Wanda, a devoted mother and skilled medical worker who passed away in 2022. Their daughter is trained as a Christian counselor, and her husband works in the graphic arts. They live in Southern California and have two children.

Ministry Philosophy

Workplace Chaplain Services and Motor Racing Outreach’s philosophy of ministry has been one of a low key, relationship style. It is an approach of being where the people are with consistency and availability. The Holy Spirit leads us into natural relationships in a non-aggressive way. It is a ministry centered on sensitivity to the needs of those to whom we are ministering. Building relationships is the most important part of ministering. We do not push our way into ministering to those who do not want it. We provide services of caring and availability in time of need.
